What is the NCLEX-RN?

The NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses) is the standardised exam that all nursing graduates must pass to become licensed registered nurses in the United States and Canada.

The exam uses Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) — meaning the difficulty of each question adjusts based on your previous answers. The 2024 Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) introduced new question formats including Bowtie, Matrix, and Extended Drag-and-Drop items that test clinical judgement more deeply.

Our question bank is built around the official NCLEX-RN test plan, covering all client needs categories with the exact weighting used on the real exam.

All 8 client needs categories

Every question in our bank is mapped to one of these official NCLEX-RN categories.
